A high-energy, ambitious team deserves a workspace that’s just as vibrant, agile, and forward-thinking. For digital disruptor Ferocia, located within the iconic banking chambers of 271 Collins Street, the transformation of their Melbourne office was an opportunity to create a space as dynamic and unconventional as the business itself. The result is a fitout that boldly blends history with innovation, celebrating contrast, creativity, and purpose in equal measure.
Ferocia’s new workplace redefines what a modern office can be. It is not only a practical environment for focused work and seamless collaboration, but also a physical expression of the company’s culture. This culture values fun, inclusivity, and a non-hierarchical approach to teamwork. From the layout to the lighting, every element has been intentionally crafted to reflect these values.
Taking cues from Ferocia’s pioneering spirit, the design team used a playful yet refined colour palette, juxtaposed with natural materials and sustainable choices. Much of the furniture has been repurposed, contributing to a lower environmental impact while also adding layers of character to the space. Finishes have been selected for both their visual appeal and their performance, ensuring the office can keep pace with the demands of a fast-moving team.
A standout feature of this fitout is the prolific use of 3M™ DICHROIC Glass Finish across internal windows and meeting room walls. This futuristic material transforms throughout the day depending on light and position, creating an immersive, ever-changing visual experience.
It is not just beautiful. It is symbolic of Ferocia’s commitment to fresh thinking, innovation, and seeing the world through multiple lenses.
With a clear focus on non-hierarchical collaboration, the space has been designed around transparency and openness. Clear sightlines encourage connection across teams, while a strategic spatial plan provides dedicated zones for concentration, collaboration, casual interaction, and wellness. From quiet pods and Zoom rooms to vibrant social hubs and a fully equipped gym, the space accommodates every mode of working.
Above, randomised acoustic ceiling tiles turn a functional necessity into an unexpected design highlight. These add depth and texture while managing noise levels. Lighting becomes a guiding tool. Angular neon strips, sculptural pendants, and floating bulkheads echo the shapes and movement of the collaboration zones below, helping to define and activate different areas across the tenancy.
Ferocia’s new office is more than a place to work. It is a launchpad for ideas, a home for innovation, and a daily reminder of the brand’s values. It fosters community, enables flexibility, and invites creativity, all within an environment that is equally bold and beautiful. It is a workplace that doesn’t just keep up with Ferocia’s fast pace. It energises and amplifies it.
Through colour, materiality, spatial design and sustainable thinking, this fitout delivers a unique blend of personality and performance. It is perfectly aligned to the future of work and to the people who shape it every day.
